When should I replace the iPhone battery?
Battery Health Drops Below 80%
- Check in Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging (for iOS 15+). If Maximum Capacity is below 80%, Apple recommends replacing it.
You See the “Service” Message
- If your iPhone displays “Your battery’s health is significantly degraded”, it’s time for a replacement.
Your iPhone Dies Quickly
- If your phone drains fast, shuts off randomly, or struggles to hold a charge, the battery may be worn out.
Performance Issues (Slow iPhone, Lagging Apps)
- Apple slows down iPhones with degraded batteries to prevent crashes. If your phone feels sluggish, a new battery can help.
Overheating or Swelling
- If your phone gets unusually hot or the battery swells (causing the screen to lift), stop using it and replace the battery immediately!
